Tour homes

Setting foot in one of Vicksburg’s 12 tour homes is not unlike traveling through time itself. These elegantly designed structures widely vary in age, with the earliest being built in the late 1700s and the most recent during the post-Civil War era, bearing design influences from Victorian America.

Ahern’s Belle Of The Bends

Constructed in the mid 1870s, this postbellum home is adorned with crystal chandeliers, ornately carved millwork and other lavish details that lend a unique feel. 30-minute tours are available daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Anchuca Historic Mansion

Anchuca, an antebellum home, was built in the late 1820s and updated in the 1840s with its current Greek styling. The property is perhaps best known as the home of Confederate President and Jefferson Davis’s brother, Joseph E. Davis. Anchuca is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Annabelle Bed & Breakfast

The opulent Annabelle is located within Vicksburg’s historic Garden District. Call the Annabelle to schedule a tour of the home, which features magnificent design elements based on Victorian and Italianate architectural styles.

Baer House Inn

Constructed in 1870 by Lazrus and Leona Baer, the Baer House exhibits inspiration from the Eastlake and Victorian architectural movements. Tours are available by appointment from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m and range from 60 to 90 minutes in duration.

Bazsinsky House

If you’re planning to visit Vicksburg’s Old Courthouse Museum, venture across the street to explore the Bazsinsky House. The home was completed in 1861, just two years before the Siege of Vicksburg. Open daily, appointments recommended.

Cedar Grove Mansion Inn

The five-acre Cedar Grove Mansion Inn estate was finished in 1852. It currently houses five unique buildings complemented by graceful gardens, fountains and courtyards. The home is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Corners Mansion

Fusing influences from the Greek Revival, Italianate and Victorian movements, The Corners Mansion boasts parterre gardens and ornate mouldings that complement the home’s upscale atmosphere. Tours are held daily by appointment.

Duff Green Mansion

This historic landmark was initially constructed as a gift to a cotton broker’s bride, but it was soon converted into a Civil War hospital. Group tours are available by appointment.

George Washington Ball House

This stately home was erected in 1822, prior to Vicksburg’s incorporation. It fell into disrepair over time, but was completely restored in 2004. Groups of six or more may tour by appointment.

Greys Oaks Plantation

Martha Vick House

Constructed by Newit Vick, the founder of Vicksburg, for his daughter, this miniature mansion is the last original Vick home remaining in the city. Tours last approximately one hour.

McNutt House

At nearly two centuries old, the McNutt House – named for Alexander McNutt, Mississippi’s 12th governor – is one of the oldest in Vicksburg. Tours are offered daily, by appointment, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
